Belonging to the renowned family of educationist led by grandfather Late Sh. Madhu Sudhan Dass and father Sh. Ram Iqbal Sharma,Rajesh Bhardwaj carried on the legacy of bringing education to rural, border area and promoting the cause of education to the masses. The dreams of late Sh. Madhu Sudhan Dass to spread the education in the rural and border area were realized by his son Sh. Ram Iqbal Sharma, the founder of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Group of Institutes. He began SBS School with single room in the year 1974.The home based school started by Sh. Ram Iqbal Sharma gradually converted into a Sr. Sec. School, affiliated to Punjab School Education Board. This school has been further expanded by his son and Daughter-in-law Mrs. Mridula Bhardwaj into a chain of Institutes. Mr. Rajesh Bhardwaj is Managing director and Mrs. Mridula Bhardwaj is Executive Director of the SBS Group of Educational Institutes. In 1986, they opened their first pharmacy institute, followed by a polytechnic in 1991. The group never gave up its mission of providing education, even when Punjab was badly hit by terrorism and people had started shifting to other places. “I grew up seeing my father working for the poor and downtrodden. He had given Patti, the first private school of the town. So it was my aim to nourish his dreams. Education is the only medium, which empowers a human being to take on the problems of life and find a solution for them. I joined my father in 1986 when we started pharmacy college by thinking that education will help in the development of the area and now, when Patti has turned from being a “Poultry hub“ of Punjab to “Educational Hub”, now I feel that it is the educated youth that can develop the town". “Students learn more through what they actually do than what they read or see, hence practical education is given more emphasis in our Institutions. It is an achievement for our institute that in a border area, where students have to leave their homes in search of decent jobs and training programmes, we have students coming from all over India for attaining quality education”, adds Rajesh Bhardwaj and Mrs. Mridula Bhardwaj.

The SBS Group of institutes provides Wi-Fi campuses with fully equipped labs, canteens, buses, for easy transportation, clean and spacious hostels, the group focuses especially on technical training and practical work.
